Schedule of Activities

Clean out your closets and donate your T-shirts to the Newing commemorative quilt. Donate Newing memorabilia for our display and time capsule. Send items to the Alumni Office (PO Box 6000, Binghamton, NY 13902-6000) or bring them with you to Homecoming.

Newing Anniversary Headquarters
Old Newing Library (lower level of the dining hall, now the Discovery Center)
Let the celebration begin! This will be your base for the weekend. Hang out and reminisce with fellow Newing alumni. Flip through old issues of the Lake Lieberman Gazette and Newing College Yearbooks. Drop off your Newing T-shirts for the quilt and your other Newing memorabilia for the time capsule.

Newing Alumni Luncheon
Newing Dining Hall
Take a stroll down memory lane for this traditional online brunch. Special items on the buffet will include Monte Cristo sandwiches, Lil' Abners, Quick Draws, Mimosas and/or Bloody Marys. Please register for the luncheon using the online registration form which will be available on Sept. 1. Cost is $20/person; $10/children under 12.

1:30 p.m.
Newing Hall Receptions and Tours
Relive your Newing experience. Leaving from the headquarters head over to your old hall for an informal reception hosted by that hall's RAs and RD. Swap stories and share memories of what it was like when you lived there, and find out from current students what it's like now. The RAs will facilitate visits to your old floor/room.

Brain Train Parade
This traditional Homecoming event will end at the Events Center.

4 - 7 p.m.
Tailgate '08
Events Center Parking Lot F
Yes a real tailgate on the Binghamton campus. Details are still being worked out, but, in the Events Center parking lot, alumni, faculty, staff and students will gather for a tailgate. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase and guests are encouraged to bring their grills and food items for a tailgate party. Join Faculty Master Bill Ziegler who will host our Newing alumni tailgate. Look for the Newing banner. Please use the online registration form (available Sept. 1) to indicate that you plan to attend. View the tailgate policy. Stop by the Alumni Association RV for your free gift.

9 p.m.
Newing Evening Reception
After the tailgate and soccer game, we’ll have a very informal gathering around the fire pit. Join us for s’mores, hot chocolate and more reminiscing with Newing alumni. This will be the perfect ending to a perfect day.
